Well, another year is coming to a close. It’s been a good year for MOASF from my point of view. We are getting a little more active as more people are getting involved. Andy Biddle’s efforts on Facebook are bringing us into the 21st century. The All British Motor Show was a success in spite of the one-week rain delay. We have also had a few more events this year.
As we look toward the new year and the Annual General Meeting on January 14 at my house in Walnut Creek, one thing to think about is the election of Officers for next year. We’ll do that at the meeting as well as start planning next years events. A goal expressed at the last meeting was to have one event per month. So if you have any ideas and/or want to help move the club forward, be there.
On a personal note, none of my three Minis are running. Wellington, the New Zealand 1275, needs an engine rebuild before Mini Thunder in February. Suspect oil pressure resulted in the motor sitting in pieces on the bench. The ’59 pre production Moke restoration/renovation is plodding along but plans are for it to appear at MMW17 in Santa Rosa in June. Ratty, my poor 998 daily driver “beater” needs a few little things to get back on the road but really needs a complete and total resto to make it right. Fifteen years of service without much maintenance takes its toll. Now that the ABMS is over I’ll have some time to devote to the little beasts.
